From an early age, Henry John Heinz realized that quality is the best business plan. While other sellers sold horseradish in dark glass bottles, the young entrepreneur stood out by offering his version of the pungent root in clear glass containers, so his customers could see the quality of his product.

In 1869, he founded the HJ Heinz Company. Today, more than a century later, you can still taste his commitment to quality in every bottle of ketchup, can of soup and our ever expanding selection of other great tasting products.

With head quarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Heinz is the most global of all US-based food companies! The company provides delicious, nutritious foods to families in 200 countries on 6 continents. Every year, 650 million bottles of our iconic Heinz Tomato Ketchup add flavor to a family meal. No wonder millions of fans believe, “if it isn’t Heinz, its not tomato ketchup.”
